I Can’t Afford It

All of us must have said this at some point in our lives. We said this maybe when we can’t afford to buy something: “Honey, we can’t afford to buy our own house yet.” Or maybe some of us must have said this when we were under some sort of pressure: “I can’t afford to lose in this pitch again.” While some must have said this when we had to push ourselves a little more: “I can’t afford to breakdown now!”

There are many things we can’t afford from time to time because we are in more ways than one, scarce. Our time is limited, our money may run out, and our talents and skills can only get us so much. We are all limited. But some, more than others.

The Covid-19 pandemic has magnified each of our own limitations and scarcities. Millions around the world had lost jobs, and loved ones; and this has severely deteriorated our physical, mental, and financial healths.

And as everything in our world comes at certain cost (physical, mental, or financial) a lot of us have been “unable to afford” to take a step forward.
